What performance loss will be if i will use m.2 to PCIe3.0 x4?

That's basically a thunderbolt 3 link which gets capped out around 1060 levels of performance. Sometimes worse sometimes a bit better but really on average a 1060.

Thunderbolt or for that matter any current egpu connection is just not fast enough. The fastest one rn is on the asus flow x13 their proprietary one at x8 4.0.

Is this turning a low power laptop into a better gaming laptop? Cuz if so it's better to just sell it, get and get a complete balanced system instead of a hackjob low performing mess that has a low chance of working with a m.2 adapter. That and it makes the laptop a desktop.

I have rtx 3060 in laptop (Lenovo legion 5 pro), but for 300 fps in apex I need more power! So I hoped that will work. But if I understand you right there is strong cap under level of gtx 1060...

Just getting there requires insane levels of cpu power too. That and it's kinda ridiculous and no legion 5 came with a 300hz screen I think? That and most people won't even notice the difference between 300hz or 240 or 170 or 144. It's a case of diminishing returns.

But either way there is no way for you to improve your graphics horsepower.
