Hello,

so lately I’ve been getting RAM error codes on BSoD. Ran a diagnostics tool and it showed up as “hardware problems detected”. From what I understand either stick of RAM is damaged though how do I test it properly? I’m afraid that the motherboard RAM slot has been damaged as well, curious of a way to test the slots as well? If it’s just RAM I’d need to buy a new set but don’t want to plug in brand new sticks into a damaged slot.

Just added this so in case I run into some issues, there's detail about my PC right underneath

PC 1

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D | GPU: RTX 3070 | RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 3200mhz | Motherboard: TUF Gaming B450-M Case: Deepcool CC560 | Cooler: darkflash 320mm AIO | PSU: Antec 1000w HCP Platinum

PC 2

CPU: Xeon W3680 (4.41ghz OC) | GPU: MSI Vega 56 Airboost OC | RAM: 20GB DDR3 1600mhz | Motherboard: Asus P6T Case: Zalman R1 | Cooler: Deepcool GAMMAXX GT A-RGB | PSU: Thermaltake Berlin 630w 80+ Bronze

disable XMP, does the problem go away? if so you need to tweak memory settings/voltage to get 3200mhz stable.

I’ll try that right now. Windows just gave me a damaged memory error as well

Disabled XMP and ran another Windows Memory Diagnostic tool run. Still showed up as “hardware problems were detected”.

First at all you can use multimeter in ring mode to check if roads actualy fine, if you think that you may hawe conection iusses
2 there is memtest86+ wich you can use to check all you ram (actualy i would prefer do this step first)
3 - you may hawe macro camera on you phone, it can be realy usefull to see small pins on PC, enable light and use macro cam

MemTest64 won’t allocate the 16GB of RAM I have. Only runs a test at 7182MB. Manually setting to run in all 16GB shows up as “memory allocation failed”

Run Memtest64 with each stick seperate.

PC keeps freezing. Tried both sticks separately on both slots.

If it freezes because of one stick then disable forced dual channel and xmp ? Mayb even set bios to default settings (just save current before fallbacking)
Also do oyu hawe other ddr4 mohterboard from wich you can ensure that it not slots but ram or vice versa (alt ram instead of motherboard)

RAM 99% issue I'm sure. Recalled that I've bought the PC pre-built and it has warranty still. A courier picked it up today and being sent over to the seller. Thanks for the help!
