Is my gpu dead.

Go to solution Solved by Hamstermeme,

Me being a complete PC Rookie. had my GPU connected with 1 PCI-E cable. i used 2 cables. and i went through 3dmark completely fine now. So i guess its fixed

Hello LTT Forum,

these are my pc specs

Pc specs:

CPU:i7 8700k

MOBO:MSI z390 A pro

GPU: inno3d rtx 3070 ichill x3

PSU: RM1000x

RAM 4x corsair vengeance LPX 8gb 3200mhz (total 32gb,XMP enabled)

Benchmark temps:

CPU temps: around 65-70

GPU temps: around 70-75

things i have tried:

Reinstalling drivers (through ddu (removing them through safe mode and reinstalling through nvidia site))

Changing the psu (bought a new one)

updating VBIOS

I have been using this setup for a couple of years now. (GPU bought this year from a friend so its used) and i had no issues for it for a whole year. recently i have been getting a issue where my pc goes black and monitor says no display while gaming. but i can still hear my audio fine. no issues my pc is not responsive. and i have to force reboot. I used to use a 650W PSU but decided to change the PSU to the rm1000x. i have tried heaven benchmark which i pass without any artifacting. but when i try 3dmark and i do time spy. after 15 loops i get the same issue (Still no artifacting). is my GPU dying or can it be a different part being the issue. I would love to get your guys opinion on it.

Kind regards,

Hamstermeme

EDIT: For anyone that have the same issue. try using 2 PCI-E cables to power your GPU. (I didnt have it cus i am a PC rookie).

ps: Sorry for my bad english

Try the ram but the gpu shouldn’t be dead even if they where mining It if you are confident in pulling apart the gpu I would do that and have a look to see id there is something wrong or something that does t look right

for 3070 ti is not really possible yet.

tried a different monitor?

different cable?

Different ports on the monitor and on the gpu?

Are your mains grounded?

also you haev intergrated graphics in the cpu, plug the cable in to the MOTHERBOARD so it uses the iGPU, and report back if the problem still occurs
