I think you need to prioritize other things, if that's your "life savings".  For now, you should probably be monitor/tv/panel shopping only from secondhand stores, FB marketplace, craigslist, etc.

damage is not severe, but very annoying.

is there a way to at least get the lines off the screen? At the very least?

BTW, the damage is at the bottom left <------- corner of the TV.

the tv is a 35" flatscreen if that helps

If your TV is cracked, that means that glass (the material that makes the LCD panel) is cracked.
Now technically, you can repair cracked sheet of glass, your issue, is to separate the layers that form the LCD panel without breaking them, and now pass it through a process of repairing. and then reassemble the panel.

 

In other words, there is no realistic fix.
