hey guys, so im here with my final challenge, i think, anyways, im here in the linux live usb, going to install linux on my 107gb partition that i made on my hdd, so to start off the only way i could make it by not erasing the win8 partitions install, was to choce something else, so i went ahead and created a 20gb root, 8 gb swap, and the rest to home, but i get this messages:

The partition table format in use on your disks normally requires you to create a separate partition for boot loader code.  This partition should be marked for use as "Reserved BIOS Boot area" and should be at least 1 mb in size.  Note that this is not the same as a partition mounted on /boot.

If you do not go back to the partition menu and correct this error, boot loader installation may fail later, although it may still be possible to install the boot leader to a partition

im a complete noob to this, ive done my research across the web, but nothing concrete to help me in this specific senario :( any help guys?

You're using the graphical installer right?  It should say at the bottom where the boot loader is going to install.  Make sure you use /dev/sda or /dev/sdb/ and overwrite the exisiting windows boot loader.  Linux will detect your windows install and add it to the boot loader.

Just highlight the / partition when you install, just to be safe (like just click it once and install).

so i got an error saying

error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sda8 -- Device or resource busy, this means linux wont know about any changes you made to /dev/sda8 until your reboot  --  so you shoudn't mount it or use it in any way before rebooting

gives me the option to ignore - cancel

and in the back is asking me from where i am

what do i do now? is everything okay or did i mest up?

Can you boot into windows and do chkdsk /f?

If you can't, try booting from a CD or USB with win7 on it
