Weird issue on iphone 11

I have a weird issue with my new iphone 11 (I got it because it's cheaper) where right after I unlock it with faceid, the first time I tap on certain apps, they don't open. The animation of the app being tapped occurs but the app doesn't open, I have to tap it again for it to open. This only happens once after I unlock my phone, and for it to happen again I need to turn off my screen and unlock it again. So far it happened with the Settings app and App Store, and it's pretty easy to reproduce. My iphone is on the latest version of ios, I updated it right after I got it.

Another question I have is if it's normal for the iphone screen to turn orange for a second or 2 sometimes (not all the time) when I take selfies. I looked it up but couldn't find anything about it. This is my first iphone, I switched from android so yeah.

The orange might be the flash? Try disabling that.

do you mean because of the orange screen or cuz of the app tapping issue? I just looked it up with more specific terms and it seems like the orange screen is supposed to be a kind of flash for the front facing camera

tapping, well that might also be a software bug, so if you don't have important data on phone or have a backup and time to set it up again, you could do a factory reset and check if that helps.
