Need advice please

I’m currently doing some major upgrades to my ole cyber power pc. I switched out to a different case going from a I5 4690 to a I5 9690k.  Running a asus rtx 3060, 800 watt power supply, 64gb ddr4 ram, need to which motherboard should I go with. I can not spend too much. Around 250 ish is my limit. Any help would be great.

Do you already own the CPU? If you don't own it, don't buy it, you can get an i5 12400 and board for ~$330 that will absolutely smoke the 9600k in performance. Heck, the i3 12100F will be ~$100 less, be in your $250 price limit for the board, and still outperform that CPU. 

 

If you do own it and got it for a good price (or can't return it), get a used Z390 board for about $50. Spending much more than that it would make sense to flip the CPU on eBay for ~$100 and just get a new CPU and board together.
