Keyboard dampener

Hi everyone!

I just bought a car carpet that is made out of viscose, polyester and latex, and it seems like it could be used as a keyboard dampener, but I am worried that it can be very conductive because of the viscose in it which could (probably?) lead to a short circuit. So, should I actually use it in a keyboard to make it sound better?

Define "sound better".

 

Louder?  Softer?

 

You can usually get most of the "sound" you want, just by using the proper switches.
