Lost Windows Start Screen After Installing HDD?

I have a 512 GB SSD - and I just added a 2TB HDD.

After I did this, the PC boot process seemed to be affected.  There is now no Windows start screen (showing the Windows 11 username and the spinning circle).

Now, it just goes from the ASUS start screen directly to the Windows 11 desktop.

Why did this happen?

Can it be changed back to the normal Windows 11 start screen?

I just realized that the Windows start screen shows when the computer is restarted.
But when the PC is shut down, then started again:

  • -the ASUS screen (with bios text) shows, then blinks
  • -ASUS screen shows again with the Windows spinning circle
  • -then, PC goes directly to desktop

Does the computer have a password?

Run

sfc /scannow

And then it may be back to normal after a reboot

If not you can also run this in PowerShell:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

If it's still an issue check for Windows updates too

Dream-phone: USB type-c (3.1), 1440p, 5-inch, removable battery, 32gb RAMdrive, sd card slot, stock Android, transparent atomic purple build, 9050 mah battery, waterproof AF, nuclear powered, ac wifi is fine.
OR a one-of-a-kind iphone that runs Android.
