need help with windows license

I have recently changed my motherboard and cpu and ram , and after I did that it is telling me to activate windows . I have tried troubleshooting but it didnt work .

Are you using an OEM Windows license? If you are the license cannot be transferred to another computer

if you mean it is preinstalled then it is not , I installed it my self

In my case I had to contact Microsoft by phone so they can assign the license to the new hardware. They tell you the activation code (not the key) when you call them, you enter it on your PC and done.
