So, long story short, I bought an Alienware a few months ago, only way to get a hold of a 3080 at the time. Fast foward now, alienware is crap, it keeps overheating, so I bought a PSU, Mobo and case and transfered the rest into the new build. For reference, I have an Asus Prime Tuf B560m-Wifi, I7 10700, 3080, 16 gb (2x8) 3200 mhz, 1000 watts plat corsair PSU. I transfer everything to the new case, only thing that is really new into the system is the mobo. Dual channel doesn't work. My 2 sticks of ram do get detected if put in single channel, or if I test them 1 at a time, but dual channel I cannot even get into Bios.

Now the mobo is obviously still under warranty, but to get an exchange, Canada Computer wants it for 2 to 5 days to test it and confirm my diagnosis. I have swap the ram with other known good, same behavior. I do not have another CPU to swap and test and while taking appart the shit alienware, a cable dropped into the socket so it is not good anymore to swap the mobo again.

Is there a test I could do to either confirm the CPU memory controller is dead or the problem is from the mobo?

Thanks

I am gonna guess you have some sort of aftermarket CPU cooler? Either way, reseat the CPU but don't put the cooler on, put both rams in dual channel mode and see if it works. If it does put the cooler on with less pressure (if you have an aftermarket cooler).

Did you examine the pins in the socket to see if they got fucked up when you dropped a cable in there?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
