So I have not long built this pc (in the last 6 months) and I was having issues because I was using older second hand 2400mhz ram. So I thought upgrade the ram while I can get it at a relatively decent price got 64gb of 3200mhz cl16. Now I am having the issue of the CPU running at 100% and being the slow down factor as I download large numbers of files into lightroom. Currently I have the 10600. So the question is - Is it worth going up the cpu stack in the 10/11 gen or do I wait a year and go for a 13?

just to add this is a work use computer used for photo and video editing and has a 3060 because it is what I could get at msrp and was available.

Depends on what 13th gen offers. 12th gen is not a bad increase to performance, but you may also consider a CPU that your current motherboard can use.

If you manage to get a deal on a used i9-10900, assuming your motherboard can handle a powerful CPU, that would also be a big improvement for you.

If you can wait then you should, but if you need something soon, consider what is already on the market within your budget.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
