Country: US

Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: I plan to use this for general gaming and VR.

Other details: I would like to get a GTX 1060 of of eBay for $180 but want to see if there is a better option first.

CPU i5 8400 / RAM 16gb 2133MHz / Motherboard PRIME H310M-A / GPU Internal Graphics (was using a GT 610 2gb)

A 1060 3GB is about all you're going to be able to get for 180.  Possibly an RX 570 4GB also. But both of those are typically above 180 these days.

i think you can get the 6g version of the 1060 for 180 or not much more

 

3gb vram is kinda bad, id try to get a 1060 6g.

Yes it might be a little bit short for VR, though it may depend on which game you want to run.

If you can wait a few more months there could be a big price drop for GPUs, most likely between April and June. Of course it's all speculation but it may be worth your while and you may be able to get a 1070 / 1660 super for a similar price
