Ethernet cable relyability

Well you see I've been pinging in CMD to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 and I recieved in random intervals timeouts, same I would see in games where I'd see ping spikes and rubber banding.

But I tried going under my table and I saw my PC was pushed really far down so I along with unpluging and repluging Ethernet also made it so that the cable bent less.

And what do you know, I've been pinging since than and no timeouts whatsoever...

was probably causing the connection in the ethernet jack to be poor at best. If it continues, swap the cable out. Hopefully with the stress of the cable being bent awkwardly it didn't damage the port if thats the case.

Can bending Ethernet cable cause problems?

depends on the bend, but yes. Its just very thin copper wiring which can be broken by bending/kinking it very tightly.

That depends on which kind of cable it is, and how hard it gets bent. Generally, unless they're bent tighter than they would be to wrap around your thumb they should be fine.

If you pull a loop of CAT6a into a tight kink and yank it straight, creating a spot where the twists get interrupted, you might see crosstalk on a cable certifier.

If you've got soft CAT5e cables with stranded conductors inside, you can bend them pretty much however you want and they'll stay within spec.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

was probably causing the connection in the ethernet jack to be poor at best. If it continues, swap the cable out. Hopefully with the stress of the cable being bent awkwardly it didn't damage the port if thats the case.
