Posted February 11, 2022 For my PC I had the idea to have a 250 gigabyte m.2 drive as a boot drive. A 1 terabyte m.2 drive for programs like Cinebench, Steam and Epic. and a 1 terabyte SATA SSD or HDD for games. Is this a good storage configuration. Posted February 11, 2022 Id just get. single large drive, like a 2tb ssd. You don't really need to split the boot drive to be separate, and games will be much faster on a ssd. Also gives you more slots to expand to later on with.

I agree that 250GB will probably do you just fine. Personally, my opinion is if you want more space for programs just get a bigger OS drive. You can get up to 2TB Solid State Disks nowadays on the consumer market. Also, just my personal opinion - I think unless you are explicitly wanting storage for cold data like backups or archival - you're always better off to get SSDs. So I'd get an SSD for your games for sure. Not only for the reduction in noise, but for the speed and longevity too.
