I'm planning on getting a Ubiquiti Access Point so that we can have better WiFi. My house is very old and a lot of the walls are thick cement, so the signal strength on one end of the house is terrible.

My question is, do I need a Network Switch or can it just plug directly into the ISP provided modem?

I know I need a POE injector, just don't know about a Switch.

All you need to do is connect a cable between the router/switch you want to connect to and put that in the LAN side of the POE injector and put another cable in the POE port and connect that to the accesspoint

Either is fine.

To control the AP, you'll need something to host the UniFi Controller or you can use the phone app. Instructions are found in the box with the AP.
