I didn't know it should be run in a windows terminal, I've tried this but using CMD. Anyway it says no corruption found. I would try resetting and just keeping my files but the problem is I can't even get to that as well, same thing happens where it's just a black screen and an oversized cursor

What you could do was shut off the PC before it reaches windows - if you do that a couple of times you should get the advanced startup.

I attached a picture from microsoft docs.

Edit:

Personally I would format the PC after taking a backup of the files you want to keep. (maybe by booting up ubuntu from a USB)

For some reason I've lost the ability to restart and get into the advanced startup/recovery mode in Windows 11. No changes have been made or new installs, I just noticed this when trying to get into BIOS thru windows instead of using DEL during boot up. When i click on restart now from recovery, the PC turns off and looks like it's restarting, however I never get to the advanced start up menu, it just stays on a black screen with an oversized cursor that I can move around.

Any thoughts on how to fixt this?

Sounds like a borked install.

You COULD try to do a repair with DISM and/or sfc.

DISM:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

(run this in an elevated Windows terminal)

SFC:

sfc /scannow

(can be run in CMD)

holding down shift key while pressing reboot don't work anymore?

Yeah this doesn't work too.. I finally gave up and reformatted the PC. I tried to keep the apps and files but it didn't fix the problem so I ended up doing a full format and erase everything... Not sure what caused this problem.. oh well
