Hello,Recently I've been facing a problem where my laptop's CPU Clock speed instantly drops to 0.78Ghz after the CPU utilization reaches 100%. It's weird because right when the CPU's Clock speed decreases My GPU's utilization drops like 20% at the same time. I first thought it may be the Windows updates,i deleted all the windows updates, switched 3 OS,tried switching power plans but nothing seemed to work. I also forgot to mention in literally EVERY game i get fps drops because of this, even though i have the recommended system requirements. But i well remember 4 months ago i had no problem with fps drops.
Does anyone know a fix to this?
PS:My GPU's drivers are up to date, atleast that's what device manager says
Specs:
DDR3 4GB Ram
Intel Core I5-2410 CPU 2.30 Ghz (goes up to 2.69 with turbo)
GPU : GT 525M 2GB Vram

Have you made sure the CPU is properly cooled? Usually thermal throttling doesn't drop clocks in this particular way but it's possible.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

This sounds like thermal throttling. What are your thermals like? You can use a program like HWInfo64 to check.

Thank you for your fast response but yeah you're probably right because i havent changed my thermal paste since i got this laptop (which is 11 years) lol

I cant say much since it's a laptop, but i've monitored the CPU Usage and yeah i've noticed that it gets hotter way faster than 4 months ago
