Does Gsync only work in 3d applications? Or does it work for Chrome too?

 

I have two G-sync displays (one G-sync capable, other G-sync compatible). If I only game on my G-sync capable monitor and use my G-sync compatible monitor for watching youtube videos/twitch streams on Chrome, is there any benefit at all for enabling G-sync on the G-sync compatible monitor?
