So I’m currently running a Lenovo 710 yoga laptop as my only work station. I do estimating for plumbing projects and having extra screens comes in incredibly handy. My issue is my laptop only has a micro hdmi display port. I can get (1) monitor to register, but when I tried a simple hdmi splitter, I lost signal to both monitors. I’ve searched for display docks but can’t find anything for micro hdmi. Anyone have any suggestions for products to use so I can have (2) monitors hooked up through my single micro hdmi port??

What is a simple HDMI splitter?

Because just connecting 2 displays to the same physical connecters of a HDMI will not work.
(It uses bi-directional communication to settle on resolution options etc.)

You would need an active HDMI splitter (most will have an adapter to provide power).

I dont think the problem lies on the notebook side.
Or it does, there's not really enough info.
Like what is the brand of the splitter, monitors.
Do yo have other cables to try.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

We had a no name single to dual hdmi splitter in our office I tried. I get that I need an active hdmi splitter to make things work but can’t find one for micro hdmi.
Monitors are hp p242va.

Get a micro HDMI to normal HDMI adapter and forget about the mini-connector after.
Those less used connections are less likely to be made hardware for. 😉
