So I have a GTX 760 and I was wondering how it would preform at 4K, so I looked up 760 4k benchmarks, I saw in all the benchmarks about 5 FPS, and thought never mind.  But then I realized that all the benchmarks are on ultra settings with AA sometimes at 8x or even 16x.  I believe at 4K AA is not really as important, so why does nobody do practical benchmarks?  Also, does anyone if I could run a 760 with little or no AA with high or medium settings and get a playable framerate?

you'd need to drop to medium for playable fps.

but do you agree that benchmarks are done badly?

well, i know that 4K is very demanding, but if it cant run it with AA at ultra, it wont run it at medium without AA,

No.  It's prefect.  I love 3d Guru's Bencmarks because they always run the same games. At the same settings. That is the only way you can really compare GPU's.

It would mostly boil down to the VRam usage.  I'm sure some games would run at playable frame rates but it's probably not the best idea to drive a $700+ display with a sub $300 graphics solution.

As to the benchmarks, they need to keep all the cards at the same settings so they can put them all on one graph.  I'm not disagreeing with you that it's stupid but they need to be consistent.

The gtx 760 preforms comparably to the r9 270x.   The following image is likely on the lowest settings possible.  I can't find the exact settings used

edit: vrm to vram, I'm silly.
