New cooler

Hello,

 

I want to upgrade from intel pentium g5400 to intel i5 11400f. But i dont know if my arctic alpine 12 is compatible to the intel 1200 socket and if the cpu will thermal throttle. Should i upgrade my cpu cooler aswell or no.

11400F does not usually make much sense now that 12400F is out. 12400F is a lot faster and the price gap between them is not that much.

 

That cooler aint great. Stock cooler level.

Ok. And what motherboard for 12gen and ddr4 2133mhz 100-200$ would you suggest.

Pro tip. find someone who is selling an old Noctua tower and slap a new NF-F12 on it.  
Or maybe the fan is still fine.

Nevertheless, I got a tower for AM4 without a fan for 20 bucks, there can't really be anything broken there, and then I got a new fan and I am golden. Runs perfectly in my system now.
