I'm planning a CPU-only custom loop for an SG13 build. Looking for some pointers/advice as this will be my first custom loop.

Currently i have a Corsair XR5 140mm radiator which is an interference fit in the front of the case.

With that i plan to use a Barrow Pump/Block combo, and probably Tygon R6012 13/10mm tubing (looking for something fairly small and flexible given its a very small space to work in!). Probably Barrow fittings unless something else significantly better exists?

I was originally looking at the Eisbaer Solo LT, but it was suggested that its not very good and the Barrow unit is likely to be a lot better (i'd hope so at twice the price)

My remaining concerns are about filling and bleeding, and also radiator orientation. This setup will work better with the radiator installed with the pipes at the bottom, due to the position of the fan, but i'm not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing? Theres also zero room for a reservoir, so any pointers on filling this thing? the Barrow pump does have a fill port. I was envisaging attaching some hose to this and running it up to a high mounted fitting or something that i can fill from?

I should add, currently i've got a Ryzen 2600x in there, with a Wraith Spire. However its well into the 90's while gaming, and i plan to swap it out for a 5800x very soon.

Thanks

Honsetly I would just try and see if you can find an AIO that fits your case. Doing it custom will just use more space.

Not having a reservoir with a place to fill and bleed will be a PITA at some point.

As dumb as that sounds I would probably prefer mounting a pump/res combo outside the case and routing two tubes into it through maybe a left out PCI-E cover if possbile than to run the loop without any reservoir and proper fill/drain port. With there only being two slot on the case as far as I can see that doesnt seem very possibly either.

If you are still willing to go custom then theres one tech tip from me:

Only use Nickel/Copper parts or Aluminum parts and never mix or match them to avoid corrosion.

AIO means 120mm, and i really want to go for the 140mm rad (and fan) as its the only fan in the case and i want to try and maximise the cooling performance, especially for the new CPU. 140mm radiator is about 40% more area than a 120.

An external res might be possible if you think going res-less will be a big problem. Theres no room around the PCIe slots, theres a 6900xt rammed in there and its an interference fit, but i might be able to come out the rear panel around the power supply.
