ASUS Z690 (PD_12V_PWR) connector?

Hi,

 

Im building my a new ASUS z690 formula rig and i have come across this 6pin connector "PD-12V_PWR". I don't know if this actually connects from to board to the GPU or does it connect from the board to the ATX?

 

What are your thoughts?

Its a PCIe power connector. It's to provide extra power to the PCIe slots if you have multiple GPUs. If you're just running a single card, don't worry about it.

But i could just power up directly from my PSU i guess. I don't know why Asus put this on their board. (sorry, i've recategorized back to newbie for PC building since hiberating with laptops for the past 20yrs!!!). May last actual PC build was in the early 90's!!!
