Oh yea! It turned back on after I switched the power supply off and on. I am using it right now. I think a short sounds right, but I have done this before and it didn't occur then.

Well, USB-C connector is small. and USB A 5v pin is near the port's edge. So it is possible that before you didn't manage to connect the 5v pin to other pins.

I went to plug in a USB-C flash drive into my computer and accidentally went to put it into a USB-A port because i forgot where my C port was. As I attempted that, my system shut down. I don't really have any other info, I can provide event logs as needed.

Thanks

Can you turn on the PC now or it stays dead ?

There could be a short, since USB-C connector's outer side are metal, and there's 5v & GND pin in USB port.

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post

I'll go ahead and assume that's the cause. I'll just have to be careful of where I plug things in. Gladly nothing was damaged from what I can tell.

Well, you need to try the port to know.
Shorting 5v & data pin might cause that data pin to break IIRC
