SHIELD Controller

Sooo, it seems unclear even after hours searching for an answer, but it appears to me that you can't actually turn off the shield controller, some say yes, i have one and it's just not a thing, so you have this notification on the shield that keep harassing you because "shield controller battery is low", the answer would be to keep charging the controller unless you use it, I'm not quite sure if it's safe, and i don't know why i can't just turn it off

If you really can't turn it off then just charging it when not in use is the only answer. It's probably safe but not great for the battery's health.
