Hi,

I have budget of 2500 USD and due to the shortage I am unable to get any GPUs. I want to build a PC for deep learning.

My local computer dealership has a Dell Precision 3640 Tower with i9 10th Gen, 64 GB RAM, 1TB 7200 HDD, 512 GB M.2 SSD, 10 GB 3080 RTX Windows 10 PRO along with 3 years of warranty.

I am getting this dell for 2k USD.

Is it a good deal or am I better of building my own rig. As per the part supplier that I spoke to RTX 3080 alone is going on sale for 1.5 - 2K.

Please help me decide!!!!

Sounds like a good deal to me. That's a good GPU and a ton of RAM, both things you want for machine learning. And yes, the RTX 3080 will almost certainly be very expensive by itself. I hope you get this, if you haven't already!

Yes, that's really good given the current situation. Make sure that those 64gb of ram are in 2x32gb instead of 4x16gb, so you can upgrade to 128gb later on.
