Motherboard Upgrade

I am planning to change my motherboard from Asus B450M-A Prime to MSI B450M Mortar max for better VRM and I/O supports is it worth or should i stick to Asus prime and save up for a B550 Motherboard

I am using a ryzen 5 2600 im not planning to upgrade my processor yet just the motherboard
