Potential power issues

crogers

Hi,

I have a water cooled custom loop threadripper system with a 3090 and 1000w seasonic psu and I have started getting random shut offs when stressing both the gpu and cpu at the same time.

It has been happening during games and when running a stress tests. Either one on it’s own (gpu or cpu) and the system is fine but as soon as I start the other one the system just turns off.

Could it be a problem with the psu, or possibly a problem with something else, I haven’t pulled it all apart yet but that will be my next thought.

The system has been running fine for the last year or so.

1000w seasonic psu

Specific model please.

Seasonic Focus Prime units are known to have issues with Ampere graphics cards and will shut the system down.

I think I have resolved the issue, i think the problem was the pump plugged into the wrong connector on the Corsair commander
