Headset for gaming

I'm looking for a headset with a mic that is good for sound whoring and music. I don't know what's better Dolby 7.1 for gaming or the circumaural type of headset. My budget is below $100 us

but my or you could go with a in ear headset.

I'd go for a Steelseries Siberia V2, they've got above average audio quality for being a gaming headset.

 

I'd personally go get a quality pair of headphones and a separate mic like the modmic though.

I would get headphones without a mic and then buy a mod mic or a desk mic at that price point.
