Whenever my Logitech Pro X Superlight does not automatically connect to my PC whenever it starts up. The same goes for other usb devices except my keyboard. I'm new to linux and would like to know how to fix this so I don't have to switch back to windows. Thanks for anyone responding to this.

Hi! I am permanently switched to Linux as of about November.

This is likely do to a driver issue. Is your PC a laptop, or a custom build, a prebuilt tower?

(I'm asking so I can find some USB drivers.)

Or, open Software Updates app and select the drivers menu. There should be some drivers there!

My PC is a custom build, and I couldn't find any drivers in the Software Updates app.

However I just found out that whenever I unplug my Power-play mouse pad the mouse suddenly starts working.

The other USB device doesn't work until I have taken it out and plugged it back in.

The problem only occurs whenever I turn on my PC, whenever I restart everything works just fine. The problem with the mouse also happens whenever I turn if off and then back on again.

Thanks for trying to help.

I'm using ubuntu release 20.04.3 LTS is this version not recent enough?

It is recent, in fact it is recommended for use by Canonical.

Check your mouse settings. Your PC seems to only allow one mouse at a time. Might be a Linux thing.

Does it matter if my PC only allows one mouse? since I'm not using multiple mice.

Well, I say that since you unplugged your mousepad and the mphisical mouse started working.

Do you have multiple mice? You could plug two in and see how it goes.

Using multiple mice works fine, I can use either mouse to move the cursor.

The mouse pad is just used to charge the wireless mouse so I don't understand how this would be a problem.

I have however found out that all USB devices work fine whenever I'm in the bios, but stop working when I startup the PC into Ubuntu.

I've also tried using a non wireless mouse and that works just fine when booting up the PC.

Ubuntu seems to have problems with just the wireless mouse and the Audio Interface. And somehow the wireless mouse starts working whenever I unplug and reconnect the charger mouse pad. The Audio Interface however only starts working when I unplug it and then plug it back in.

I'll try and see if Ubuntu actually detects these two devices when I've just booted the PC.

Okay so I checked and the USB devices are both detected even when they're not working.

I’d do a Refresh install from system settings next.

Yeah I tried doing that just now, still doesn't work. So I decided to switch back to windows and it works perfectly now.

Shame I couldn't get it to work.

Thanks for your help anyway.

I'm sorry about your experience.

I hope you'll try Linux again in the future!
