I recently just installed a new ram stick on my pc it has the same frequency as my other ram stick but different brand/model after the installing the ram stick my AMD drivers keep crashing and I cant play anything not even youtube videos. I've reinstalled my drivers multiple times and it still gives me the same error.

"We detected a driver timeout has occured on your system"

Even if it is the same speed, ALL sticks will be retrained to match,...the memory trained ram sticks, those sticks that were stable and set prior, are now likely also running different timings than before or have forced the new stick to use its timings..which isn't guaranteed to work in either case...

These new or old timings on a certain set of sticks getting retrained,... could be but is likely not stable.

Remove that stick you added is clearly the advice to give.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I tried switching my ram stick's positions and the error messages stopped popping up. My games are now running fine, I think the ram stick I got was a defect. I threw away the cointainer but I still have the receipt do you think I can still return the ram stick?

Edit: The fix only lasted for a day, my drivers are back to being timed out. Guess I'll try to return the ram stick.

Edit 2: Turns out My Taskbar showed me false information about my ramstick's speed it showed 2666 but the speed was actually 2040mHz.
