Is Mt system bottle necked

I have a 9400f and a 1650 super with 16gb of ram. Most games run fine but cod war zone struggles when playing sometimes I'll have 30%gpu but 100%cpu and even discord drops my fps by 10-20

Base clock 2.90 GHz - How good is your cooling? what do thermals look like? 4 cores should be okay in 2021..

Stock intel cooler

And a z490

The 8700K is pretty nice.

You will also need a good cooler like the Scythe FUMA 2

He won't need something that big, anything with more airflow then the stock cooler though.

I mean 100% isn't always 100%. If he has more thermal head room he might get more out of it or longer boosts.

If you are on a z490 why would you down grade to lga1151? a 10600k is an easy upgrade for that board.

You can just put any cooler in there and expect it to cool the CPU well just becuse it's not stock...

There are coolers that are not stock and are even worse than the stock coolers,you need to choose wisely.

The GPU is at 30% usage,CPU is at a 100% - It is indeed,without a doubt a severe case of bottleneck.

And at 80C the CPU has thermal headroom.

Try this before you buy anything:

 

For some reason i thought that it's a quad core processor.

I suspect that the issue is with the game itself,and not your CPU.

Does it happen in other games?

Yes but telling the difference between a stock coolers cfm and a aftermarket cfm is extremely easy.
