Get a better PSU. Rosewill PSU's are shit.

yeah i went into the genorator and changed a few things and forgot to change that

I think you should put more power into the GPU and take away from the CPU.

 

Also, what is it being used for?

mainly gaming, school stuff and i little bit of rendering and editing but mainly gaming

It seems decent, not perfect. As for personal opinions and experience, I would change three things:

 

1• Change your RAM to a G.Skill set for the same price or +/- $5.

2• No Rosewill PSUs. Simple as that.

3• Please switch the brand of the R9 270X... Better yet, switch it to a GTX 770 for $30 more and reach the $1,000.

I would switch to a GTX 770. Unless for some reason he wants to mine...

what do i change to get a 770 in the budget

I changed the post if you look at it again. (changed to 760).

 

I would look at getting a cheaper motherboard and you should be somewhere around 1k. The 760 is usually better than the 270.

that board won't work with B85 if you plan on overclocking. If you change the board and the PSU, it will be good.
