I put together a list of parts of a similar price range to what you wanted. I gave you enough room to add a little bit more if you wish, but this should set you up fairly well for a first build! I hope this helps!

This should work for gaming as well as a good all-around pc. I also assumed you meant American dollars, but I can adjust based on what you want it for.

In short, a big "NO" to this build.

Things wrong with your build...

  1. Why use a R3 3100 when you can get intel i5 10400 / 11400 for similar prices. They offer comparatively better performance than r3 3100.
  2. A520 board? Again a bad choice.
  3. Overpriced memory.
  4. Why SATA SSD, when you can get much better NVMe SSDs for less.
  5. That case is literally a hotbox. Would'nt recommend that.

Hi Vexicus,

gonna be using it for light gaming. Valorant, minecraft, Age of empires. (Atleast till i get a better graphics card).

I am also a cs major so i might do some coding on it now and then, but i mostly use my laptop for that.

i am in USA.

This probably would be an overkill.

Great overkill is exactly what i am looking for lol. I was just confused about intel vs amd. And motherboards. So thanks for clearing it up!

Budget (including currency):  $US 700

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MC, Apex Legends, Valorant, Age of Empires 2, C-Lion (coding)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): GTX 760

I already have a 760, I want to build a pc for the future so I can upgrade the graphics card when I can find a good one. I already have a monitor, planning to get another, but just for discord. I am considering an open case, but whatever y'all recommend will be taken heavily into consideration.

Thank you for you help!

With some incredibly sus cost cutting now you can get 12th gen intel, too bad its slightly overbudget and no case

If you wanna dabble in ram overclocking then go for some 3000 cl15 ballistix, low rated rams but its the dies that matter and e die will easily do 4000+ if you arent lazy to tune it

Case wise you can either buy a cheap old scrap case, shove the pc in it, and run w/o sidepanel (old cases tend to suck ass airflos wise)

or you can be like me and just screw the case altogether and put the damn thing on the mobo cardboard box, personally its because im lazy and makes swapping stuff alot easier since it is a testbench after all, been doing this for ~2 years and its completely fine running it ontop of a cardboard box assuming you are fine with the mess it makes

Would there be any particular differences with me getting the 12600kf instead of the 12600k? Asking cause I can get the 12600kf a bit faster and slightly cheaper

Kf has no igpu but k has igpu

Its only 20ca more and who knows you may want the igpu for things like vid editing or something like that so id still suggest the k over the kf
