Is getting a 5600g as an upgrade better than getting a 1650 super? or should i get a 1650 super?

What are you doing on this computer? If it's mainly gaming, a 1650 super would be a much better upgrade than a new CPU.

Yes but im not a very big pc nerd and i want to know if 12 nm is good enough, and i also do video editing.

video editing sometimes is framey when i am doing vfx. (i do minecraft edits and so vfx is used)

Ignore the manufacture process when thinking about CPUs. There are 22nm CPUs that are faster than some 12nm CPUs. It only really affects temps, everything else is the actual design of the chips. 

 

What video editing software are you using? A lot of them are GPU accelerated, and a 1650S would do make a big difference if it is.

im using mostly vegas pro and premiere pro. talking about the nm, thats funny because i have a cooler that is made for 150w tdp cpus.

Oh also the reason why i wanted the 1650s is because it has turing nvenc, if i recall correctly.

Not sure about Vegas, but I believe Premiere does use GPU acceleration for a lot of stuff. I would get a better GPU for what you're trying to do.

sorry. did you see the pcpart picker list of my pc? well basically i dont believe that my psu can handle anything better. plus, im on a really low budget at max of 300. yes i know that 1650s or 1650 is anywhere near 300. but i will probably wait a bit.

First off, you buy a quad-core processor for 399USD. That's totally waste of money. On Amazon now you can buy 6 core for 399USD...

And you don't have cooling, GPU...

i bought this cpu back in june. it was only like 200 dollars. i dont know why it became so expensive.
