what temperature does the CPU reach? Also I searched for that motherboard, this came up; with a bare VRM it might not have adequate power delivery.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

If you keep scrolling down. There will be a section with "Perf Cap Reason xxxx" This will tell you why the CPU is down clocking.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

1. have you clean installed windows after the upgrade?

2. what error does your bios update give you? some motherboards have special requirements when updating the bios.

hi, no. i havent got a clean install since this is my only pc to work n play so first thing that i thought its gonna be fine to just use the old one and go with it.
The errors when updating BIOS throughout windows from GALAX updater is when the prompt is gone it didnt update or give any confirmation its already been updated, its just gone and after i reboot the system its still 5.17. even the newest one there's no windows bios updater and there's only EFI update, tried that and the instruction they gave doesnt really work

hi, the temps are fine but im still confused that in CPUID HWmonitor now its idling at 50 and maxed on load with cinebench R20 its around 70-80 but the AMD master says that its idling at 42 currently and maxed at 75

you should do a clean install as you've made a big platform swap and many issues can arise. clean install windows and download all the required programs (chipset drivers, etc.)

I would see if you can enforce better CPU power limits in BIOS, cause I bet it's dropping clocks

Well, either you set overclock settings that would be pretty much the same as normal CPU performance, or enable PBO or XFR in the CPU settings (sometimes the settings are very hard to find but might result in a very convenient fix, I usually have to find a YouTube guide for how to enable these on various motherboards)
