Questions about my netwrok in my house

Hi, the powerful LTT forum

I moved to a new place, and the network here is not so understandable.

There is a single fibre optic cable comming in to the electrical closet -> Connect to my ISP moderm -> goes into something in picture -> goes to another part of the house -> connect ethernet cable -> wireless router

Then they go through this strange box with blue and white wires

So my questions are the following

Is there anyway to figure out the connection that goes out of this closet is capable of doing 1Gbps speed? (ISP supplies at 1Gbps)

What does the strange box do in terms of networking in my house.
