Asus router samba

I have tried to set up samba with my ax6600 router.

It does not appear under network automatically and i need to type in \\192.168.1.1 to access it.

however, i cant get in with the credentials i had set and it gives me this error message. I tried it with both smb1 enabled and disabled.

I tried it with another laptop and could access the files by doing the same thing, and that laptop had SMB 1 off.

 

i tried "allow guest login" and I dont have problem accessing the drive on both laptops, so i think its something wrong with the configuration of my laptop.

Did you get this share to connect once already? Usually I get this error when my share is already connected once and I try again. Not really sure, was a while since it happened. Try restarting your laptop maybe?
