Nvme slowing down system

monkeneedhelp

Ik the title is the dumbest thing ever but its true in my system even thou all games boot up in like 3 seconds when i go into game it feels choppy asf the fps counter shows 144fps in apex but i know for a fact that its dropping frames inbetween
I decided to test this and took out the nvme i recently installed and put my old sata ssd back in and the dropped frames are gone I think its taking up pcie lanes from my gpu but my motherboard says it has x16 lanes and my ssd only needs 4 lanes
I have no major issue at the moment just feels like I wasted my money on a ssd that I won't even use If anyone knows a solution/if I'm wrong here please do tell me I take all of it as a learning experience
