Do you think my upgrade is worth it?

I'd wait until the start of next year. Intel is going to release more 12th gen CPUs, and something like the i5 12400 is rumored to be a beast for the money. AMD is also likely to follow suit. If nothing else, prices should drop on the 10400 and 11400, so even if you don't go for new Alder Lake CPUs, you should be able tog et a last gen one for a good deal.

So my current setup is 
I5 7400 and a 1070
and the CPU is just terrible so I want to upgrade to an I5 10400f and keep the GPU coz I'm happy with it. Do you think the upgrade is worth it? Thanks for your response ❤️.
