Hello Guys,

I've just build a new PC and wanna try some high quality games but find out the quality isn't much better compare to console graphic like Playstation or Xbox. It seems so jagged all around the objects, Anyone mind to share some ideas on tweaking the configuration to improve the graphic.

Here is my PC specs:

My Current AMD Catalyst Control Setting on Need4Spd Rival, Tomb Raider, Crysis 2, Devil May Cry DMC

AA Mode: Override Application Settings
AA Sample: 24xEQ
Filter: Edge-detect
AA Method: Supersampling
Morphological Filter: Off
Anisotropic Filter Mode: Override Application Settings
Anisotropic Filter Level: 16x
Texture Filte Quality: High
Surface Format Optimization: On
Frame Rate Control: Off, unless application specifies

I usually get better results when I disable settings in the amd sofware and set it in the game.

your res is only 1680x1050... also need for speed rivals is terribly optimized basically all the new need for speeds are terribly optimized on pc.

Hi, these is actually a few game that i currently playing and all of them doesn't seems working right, i'm actually compare to a few youtube gameplay video played with a slightly lower level GPU than mine, but their graphic is stunning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej_joOyDCuE

Even League of Legend played on my Lenovo laptop with GT750M has a smoother graphic than the R290 in my PC...

1. Use RadeonPro to enable SMAA.

2. Try Adaptive AA, sometime SSAA can't be enable on some games.

3. Disable ingame AA.

its definitely the game i play that game on my 780 and it doesn't run all that great also i wouldnt really have high expectations for gpus i bought my 780 when it first came out before the 780ti and it was $750 Aud or something ludicrous and i was so disappointed with the performance jump from my 670 i thought i would be maxing everything out no probs but nope i dont want to buy another gpu until there is a card that is stupid fast that can smash 4k easy which wont be for awhile but i guess ill be waiting awhile i really dont think current gen gpus or even next gen will be worth it unfortunately i wish we could just jump to the future sometimes :(.

I always disable the amd settings and use in game settings, However the game that  you made the screenshots of is a poorly optimized game.

In tomb raider, the campfire looks weird, the shadow is jagged... so far i have not face any lags during the gameplay... i think my monitor only capable to get 4:3 res

But the graphic quality from the youtube gameplay is much better compare to mine... there should be a way to get that..

1680x1050 is a 16:10 aspect ratio...turn it down to 1600x900 and anti-aliasing at 4x and trilenear multi-sampling, also turn off the v-sync..try this...

Thanks! It seems abit complicated to use, but i'll try to figure it out... you mean set the graphic in the game to low? there is no AA setting there...

wow, looks like we have more work to do on these console players than we thought, showing them the better machine just isnt enough we have to show them how to use it.

1 pick good games not the c**p you're used to playing on con-soles.
2 buy a 1080p or 1440p monitor.
3 set settings to high or ultra.
4 game and enlighten your friends.

Anyway, it's a console port, jaggies is console feature.. a good developer like EAGhost Games tend to keep that feature when porting to pcmasterrace.

to be fair though the 780 is a Good card it's just that You shouldn't upgrade every generation, your results will always be incremental. If You wait for 3-4 generations to upgrade then You see massive improvements.
