So I turned off my pc and it wouldn’t turn on. Fans spun up, but didn’t post. After swapping out everything but the cpu and motherboard I pulled the cooler off and saw this spacer.png

is there any hope? Or is she dead from the heat?

EDIT: I threw the cpu in another system for the heck of it and it booted up completely ok. Time to test the motherboard I guess.

Looks like the TIM wasn't centered when applied so next time you may want to spread it over the CPU's surface so all of it is covered.
All you need is a thin coat, not a thick slathering of it and it's good to go. Be sure when mounting the cooler you do it as evenly as possible related to pressure, trying not to have it leaning to one side or the other during cooler installation if you can help it.
