Zoom in the image where the cable are space out. Look at the cable that is being mark as power cable. You would noticed that the two PEG connector is from one modular cable.

i think 760 requires only a 8 pin so u can combine 4 pin and 4 pin to power it...

The 4+4 pin is for the CPU. It's the 6+2 pin that is for the GPU.

So my friend bought an RM 550 with his PC and it's already been shipped. The site he bought it from said it had 2x PCI-E connectors and I said that'd be fine for a 760 and told him to buy it.

But then I seen this picture.

Is it just more or does it look like you can only plug one PCI-E cable and one CPU power in? Making it incompatible with any GPU that has more than 1 PCI-E 6/8pin power connector?

Maybe it has one of those connectors with 2*6+2 coming from a single wire.

This is most likely the case. In the picture, you can only have a single cable going to your GPU for power so the only way would be to have it split into two 6+2's.

ya i know that 4+4 is an eps connector...i m saying that combine the 6 and the 2 pin that will be like 4+4 pin and will power ur 8 pin for ur gpu...

Yeah, your wording was saying to used the 4+4 pin EPS12v connector to power the GPU. "u can combine 4 pin and 4 pin to power it..."

That can raise potential problems for the OP and any potential new builders, so I felt the need to make sure that is corrected. I've heard of someone managing to put in the 8 pin PEG connector for the CPU just a month ago. Thankfully, he had noticed it.

Ah yea, you're right. It should be fine then.

I was thinking who makes a bloody 550W PSU with one PCI-E connector? Anyway, thanks for pointing that out. :)

ya thats correct but actually i thought that he had a pci connector 4+2 i.e a 6 pin pci connector as that we have in a cx600 psu...so i said to remove the 2 pin from 4+2 pin and combine with other 2 pin to make it a 4 pin...thats what makes 4+4 pin for 8 pin pci power...got that mate...??... :P
