Will the Corsair LGA 1700 Retention Kit solve my problems?

I am having thermal issues with my Alderlake CPU and I changed my 240mm AIO to a 360mm Corsair H150i Cappelix and it performs almost the same as the smaller radiator, with marginally lower idle temps. I am using the Corsair LGA 1700 retrofit kit and I still throttle during Cinebench runs. Would the whole new retention kit solve this and has anyone else tried the kit?

RAM: 16gb DDR4

The 12900K is, simply put, a hot chip. Depending on your board settings, if you did a manual OC, the case airflow, and the conditions under which you're experiencing throttling, this might just "expected behaviour". More details are needed to know if this is actually user error or just a 12900k being a 12900k

If there is anything the last few weeks have taught me is the H150i is, at least anecdotally, not suitable for 12900k. Other 360's seem ok but this is now 3-4 reports from individuals and reviews using the H150i and not being able to keep it under control.

It is at stock speeds and when I first installed the H150i it maxed out at 80 during a 10 minute cinebench run but after that, it consistently hit 100 during tests. I removed the cooler and the center third had no paste on it due to what I assume is poor mounting pressure (one standoff was loose). I reinstalled it with fresh paste but same results. I have three intakes at the front with the radiator and then 3 exhausts with 2 at the top and one at the back. My case only supports 360 at the front. The pump is set to the maximum RPM and the fans ramped up to 100% during the test but made no difference. 

 

The socket has had a lot of issues with cooler mounting (see Igor's Lab) so it may just be how it is with the "old" cooler.

Adding more radiator and fans to a loop won't help if the chip itself gets too hot too fast. If the temp spikes as soon as you hit the CPU with say a Cinebench load, assuming you have proper TIM application and waterblock mount, then the issue isn't with the cooler. If you find that your temps start out at one point and then gradually over time increase to the point of overheating, then that would indicate the need for more radiator / fans. 

 

Building off of what @tarfeef101was saying, I believe that Alder Lake is just a very hot CPU and this may just be expected behaviour.

Damn, I did one cinebench run and it managed to stay below 90 but after that one run, it throttles ever time. Can't be coolant temp as it is the same on different days. Hope I don't have to change my cooler for a third time...

Well, I mean, looking at that case of yours, 3 fans can only do so much with all that glass in front of them. Not exactly a performance-oriented case. That won't help with thermals, which with a 12900k (which on most boards, at stock has an unlimited turbo duration), you might need help. 

Also check your voltage, a lot of boards super-overvolt stuff out of the box. JayzTwoCents just uploaded a video demonstrating this with your CPU:

Ill give it a go with the front panel off just to see if it makes a difference. I checked voltages and it maxed out at 1.3
