As the title states the GPU, which is an EVGA 2080ti, causes the OS to crash if enabled. The PC posts fine in safe mode or if the GPU is switched to disabled in the device manager. I've tried a variety of drivers and DDU as well as Linux with both open and proprietary drivers but to no avail. If anyone has any other ideas as to what might fix this, please let me know.

The Linux thing I can’t speak to. Nvidia has always been complicated for Linux because they won’t publish source.  Could be a driver issue.

I’m curious what system you are running this on and what’s in it.  There have been a lot of different x86 systems possible over the years.  This might even be a laptop for example, or an lga775 system from 2012   If there is an intel chip they’ve been mostly all iGP for Many years so there might be a way to test with that.
There are some pinned posts at the top of the troubleshooting section that amongst other things describe the kind of information commonly needed to do troubleshooting

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
