Pc randomly shutting down and rebooting by itself under load. Started out of the blue.

Haltox

Hey guys. Seeking a bit of help. I am confused. As of yesterday my pc started randomly shutting down and rebooting. I thought it was temps on my GPU and that i fixed it. But today it started doing so again.

I have only experienced it under load. What confuses me is how sudden it was, from one day to another. As well as the fact that none of my parts should be old enough to have severe problems. CPU, GPU and CPU cooler are from june 2020, rest is from august 2019. My best guess would be hardware related with either PSU, GPU or possibly ram? Hope you guys can help, in advance, thank you

Most likely the PSU is going out.

That was also kind of my thought. I'm not sure though. is there a way to pinpoint test the PSU without doing a generel demanding task hitting the entire system?

Try DDU'ing the GPU driver, both the Intel and Nvidia. I have had a similar issue which was the GPU driver.

Also when removing the 2070 Super, does that help?

You can switch out your pc part by part. Gpu, Ram, PSU in that order. If you have those parts lying around to test with.

I can try the driver. But so far i don't hink i'ts the GPU itself at least, ii just ran a 15min kombustor test, no problems. I think i might buy a multimeter, if it is what i think it is, which is the PSU, then i should be able to measure on a MOLEX and see less than 12V
