IPS or TN?

Go to solution Solved by Slottr,

Unless it’s super bad, it’s not something I’ve ever noticed in a dark room

Hello, i'm deciding on a new monitor, my budget isn't really that much, and i would like to know what monitor to buy, i'm torn between a Samsumg S24D322H TN Panel and a LG 24MK430H IPS Panel. I've searched, and IPS suffers from IPS glow, i play in a dark room and watch a lot of movies/series/anime with a lot of dark scenes, which one would be better option for me? i'm aware of the better color accurary with the IPS but, would the IPS glow ruin dark scenes in dark rooms for me?

They are around the same price but i really can't decide which one to choose, would the IPS be like a lottery for less ips glow as possible?

depends on the IPS, sometimes you might get an IPS (could return if very bad). not all IPS will have too much of it.

TN isn't the greatest, would pick IPS around a similar cost or you could do VA if it's just for consuming content and not speed for gaming. (this also depends on the VA monitor).

TN is not the greatest panel for a monitor.

VA and IPS is kind of higher tier panels, in the higher end monitors this can change.

else you have to see the reviews for either to find the one you wants the most.

If they are the same, would maybe pick the IPS if there was just two choices.

I understand, i'm just really afraid of the IPS Glow, because it's not an expensive Monitor, it's a budget IPS, so i'm not sure how it'll react or how bad it'll be on dark rooms since i play on a completely dark room
