PC won't turn on after thermal paste change

conr44

Recently changed thermal paste on my CPU and cleaned it off with isopropyl alcohol. After reapplying and remounting my cooler and plugging everything back in my PC will no longer turn on. My motherboard power LED is lit up but pressing the power button does nothing. I tried shorting the power button pins to no avail and resetting my CMOS has done nothing. Could my PSU be at fault? I'm not sure how it could've broken between me turning my PC off and doing something unrelated to the PSU.

@conr44 you can try take your CPU out and put it back in again and remount your cooler. Then make sure that all of your connecters for your cooler are connected. ON some boards your system won't post if the cooler isn't connected(It is just a fail safe)

Yeah check if everything is connected properly, especially the cpu fan in "cpu fan" header

maybe you put the cpu fan on the wrong pins. some boards won't boot if there's no cpu fan plugged in
