750 watt power supply for 3080 + intel i9 12900k?

hi,

 

I have a Corsair RMx Series RM750x will it do fine for AORUS GeForce RTX™ 3080 XTREME + intel i9 12900k? + Cooler Master ML360 Illusion Addressable RGB AIO CPU Cooler?

 

+ some extra case fans on top

Should be fine. If you would experience shutdowns then either power limit the GPU or then think about getting a 850W PSU.

I ran my system (see signature) with a ROG STRIX 3090, with a Corsair HX 750w for 2-3 months before getting the HXi 1200w. 

I do believe 750W for your build will be enough but I would still get a 850W

sadly i have a 750 watt, the gpu is not overclocked or anything.

If the GPU is not OC'ed, and you leave your 12900K stock, and makes sure that your motherboard doesn't default to unlocking power and turbo aswell, then I believe you are fine. You will not exceed 750 watts.

what do you mean unlocking turbo? cpu turbo boost?

Yeah, I think the 12900K uses like 120/150 watts at stock but when it is unlocked and stuff, it can pull 250 watts easily, if I remember correctly.

z690 motherboard with DDR5 2 stick 16gb

 

my 3080 would use maybe max at 350 watt, and cpu 250 max?

 

2 ssd, 1 hard drive, 1 m.2 ssd,

 

2 200mm fans, 1 140mm fans,

 

Cooler master 360 illusion water cooler with 3 120mm fans
